Quick RiseSome satellite tracking programs offer a way to quickly determine which satellites are currently above your horizon. I've implemented that in EM. On the Main Screen either select View/Quick Rise or by right clicking on any satellite select the same from the pop up menu and you will see what is displayed below.
I designed the "Quick Rise" screen to exactly overlay the main screen so you could still see the derived data available from that screen. The satellite highlighted in Red is the active satellite. Unless that satellite is above the horizon. In that case, the active satellite is highlighted in Yellow, as shown above. Satellites highlighted in Green are currently above the horizon. You can double click a satellite from here and it will launch the tracking screen. Be aware that once you are tracking on the Map screen updates to this screen are suspended. Notice the caption above the satellite names, "Updating Satellites Above Horizon"? That will appear when you are NOT tracking a particular satellite and this screen is updated once each second. When you launch the tracking screen that caption indicates that updating has been suspended. If you scroll up or down on this screen the Tracking Map screen's updates are temporarily suspended (if it is open) and this Quick Rise form is updated. Once that update is complete, the Tracking Map updates resume.
